AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL - 2500 miles in 5 days AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL - 2500 miles in 5 days 06.01.2010 | Personal | 00 comments

First of all, this is a HUGE post - over 90 photos...
We had an amazing time traveling to Gilbert, Arizona to photograph Eugene and Alla's wedding ( photos coming soon! ) After the wedding, we jumped in a car and drove 2500 miles across 6 states on our way home. I've nver been to that part of the country, and places we visited were just beautiful... Here is just a small part of what we saw...

Day 1. On our way to Grand Canyon we stopped at the Montezuma Castle. Its an amazing place where native americans lived around 500 years ago!

Sedona, AZ. Beautiful place to visit. I'd love to go there again and spend a few days there. So much to see!

Grand Canyon, AZ. We tried to visit Grand Canyon couple of months ago, but with no luck. This time was not much better - we got there around 7 pm when the sun was way down...The weather was horrible - below 40 ( compared to 95 when we left Gilbert ) There wasn't much of a sunset, which I heard is beautiful at GC... We will have to visit this place again and take better photos! For now, this is what we have. South rim:

Day 2. Page, AZ
Antelope Canyons is another amazing site you just have to see if you're in that part of the country! We went on "photographers tour" and spend some times taking photos inside the canyon. Some of my favorites here:

Day 4. Yellowstone National Park, WY.
Another place I'm planning to visit in the future. We only spent 8 hours in the park, which is not nearly enough to see everything it has to offer. One of the most visited spots in the park - the Old Faithfull geiser.

We had a great time at the Tulips Festival in Mount Vernon. We also went to see Deception Pass and took a few photos there. Tulips are beautiful. Go see for yourself - not much time left!

Yesterday was a day off for me. I did my taxes, wrote a check to uncle Sam and then we decided to check one of the local parks. It was a gorgeous, sunny day - perfect for photography. Today we're going to see some tulips up north... I'll add a few pictures from that trip to this post. And then it's back to work again: 4 shoots this weekend!

MORE RANDOMNESS... MORE RANDOMNESS... 03.26.2010 | Personal | 00 comments

One more week left before we hit the ground running with weddings, so for now I'm enjoying my free time with Linda and the twins ( Nikon D3s :)) ) The weather's been good lately, and we went out a few times to couple of different places for mini sessions and some fresh air. Wedding post next week - I promise. For now - more of Linda :)

WPPI, CORVETTE AND HALF THE TRIP TO GRAND CANYON WPPI, CORVETTE AND HALF THE TRIP TO GRAND CANYON 03.14.2010 | Personal | 00 comments

Me and Linda took a trip to Las Vegas for Wedding and Portrat Photographers International ( WPPI ) convention. We've never been to Vegas before, so we decided to stay for few more days and check out the city. We stayed at MGM Grand - the biggest hotel/casino in the country ( 2nd in the world ) 17 out of 20 world's biggest hotels are in Las Vegas!
MGM was awesome! The only other hotel we had time to visit was Paris Las Vegas, which we also loved!
I also wanted to visit Grand Canyon, which is about 4.5 hours from Vegas, story about that experience below...

Linda is getting ready for WPPI...

TRIP TO GRAND CANYON ( without Grand Canyon )
We were about to rent a perfectly nice Mazda6, when I noticed they have a yellow Corvette. When I asked about it, a nice lady said she would give it to us for only $50 more... Who wouldn't take this deal!!! We jumped inside the car, and I could only see a lot of smoke and Las Vegas in my rear view mirror...

After driving for about 2 hours we noticed a pretty nice spot in the desert and decided to take some pictures. I locked the car, and needed to get a camera flash from the trunk. I got the flash. I left the keys in the trunk. The rest is history... My phone, and all the papers were inside the car. We were in the middle of nowhere. Couple of people stopped to call for help - no cell phone reception. Arizona State Patrol arrived in about 2 hours. The officer was nice and let us stay in his car while we were waiting for AAA. Long story short - after about 3.5 hours we were back on the road! Only it was too late and getting dark already, so we had to turn around and go back to Vegas. On the way back we took more pictures. It was a nice trip :)

A WALK IN THE PARK A WALK IN THE PARK 03.03.2010 | Portraits, Personal | 00 comments

The weather was perfect today, so me and Linda went to one of the parks for a walk and took some food leftovers to feed the ducks. Of course, I used the opportunity to take a few shots of my beautiful wife too :)
Did a little experimenting in Photoshop with these... Enjoy!

ISABELLA ISABELLA 02.05.2010 | Personal | 00 comments

This photo shoot is called " Serge, Lily and the little girl who din't want to take pictures". Serge and Lily came over for a quick shoot of their daughter Isabella. And they came prepared - three bags of clothes for her to wear. Well, turned out, she had other plans for tonight. It was very hard getting her to sit still or look in the camera. But few shots turned out nicely. It was fun!
